"Jersey Shore" Viewed from the Tip of Manhattan
This panoramic view captures some of the best known landmarks in New York Harbor, and the dynamic waterfront of Jersey City, New Jersey. From the far left is the cruise ship "Adventure of the Seas" docking at the Cape Liberty Cruise Port - the home port of a cruise line that goes to Canada. To the ship's right is Statue of Liberty, a symbol of freedom and democracy that has welcomed millions of immigrants to the United States. Beyond the Statue, the Ellis Island can be seen, where many of those immigrants were processed. In between these two historic symbols are the container cranes at Port Jersey that highlight the area's role as a vital transportation hub. Further to the right is the Old Railroad Station, now part of New Jersey's Liberty State Park. The Jersey City skyline closer to the viewer completes this panorama photo.
