Harbour Town Lighthouse

The Harbour Town Lighthouse was privately constructed by Charles Fraser between 1969 and 1970 as part of the Harbour Town Marina and Sea Pines Plantation. Standing at 93 feet (28 meters) with distinctive red and white bands, it serves as a private aid to navigation. Initially met with skepticism, the lighthouse has become an iconic symbol of Hilton Head Island. Its prominence is further highlighted during the annual Heritage golf tournament, where it features prominently near the 18th hole of the Harbour Town Golf Links. Today, it operates as a museum and gift shop, attracting numerous visitors.
